Laura Kaspar is a policy analyst at Climate & Company, where she recently developed and led a workshop series on sustainability reporting tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She is also spearheading a multinational research initiative focused on creating a certification scheme for SMEs in alignment with EU Taxonomy reporting standards.
In addition to her work on the research project, Laura coordinates the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) consultation and sector standard engagement process for the prestigious Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. She also conducted an in-depth coherence analysis of EFRAG’s draft biodiversity reporting standard, specifically assessing the DNSH (Do No Significant Harm) biodiversity criteria for forestry activities.
Laura served as the project leader for the German Chamber of Commerce (DIHK), where she supports initiatives in sustainable finance. She established an ad hoc working group to help SMEs navigate the evolving disclosure frameworks, empowering them to adopt sustainable practices.
With a background as an auditor at the European Court of Auditors—where she audited the European Union’s sustainable finance legislation and delivered comprehensive trainings—Laura brings extensive experience to her role at Climate & Company. Her expertise in corporate sustainability reporting is bolstered by a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and certification as a sustainability manager, highlighting her dedication to driving impactful change through effective reporting, stakeholder engagement, and corporate governance.
Outside of her professional commitments, Laura finds inspiration in her Tyrolean roots. As an avid mountain enthusiast, she regularly explores the stunning landscapes of Austria, a connection that fuels her passion for sustainability and enriches her work.
